A little info about your session & how I work

  • The session itself lasts around 2–2.5 hours. I like to begin with a few minutes chatting and getting to know you before we start shooting.

I recommend setting aside up to 4 hours, just in case — not only because I can be a bit chatty 😉, but because I prefer not to rush. This also gives us time for short breaks, outfit changes, and a more comfortable, enjoyable experience overall.

  • Once we’re done shooting, I go into full editing gremlin mode and you’ll get a selection of lightly edited images within 1–3 days.

Take your time picking your favourites (no rush!), and once you’ve chosen, I go back to work, sprinkle the magic, and your final retouched images will be ready within another 1–3 days.

If you need your images urgently, please let me know in advance.

  • I usually provide a selection of 200-250 images to choose your standout shots from.

  • Actors Headshots:
During the session, we usually go through around 2-4 outfit changes. If you have a specific casting in mind, please bring outfits accordingly. If you’re unsure and are represented, maybe have a chat with your agent beforehand.

In general, I would suggest bringing a few neutral tops, shirts, t-shirts or vests. Colours and patterns can be fun to play around with, and good to have as options to a more neutral outfit.

Try and avoid clothing with big branding or details that may pull the focus away from you (no black hoodie with white draw strings please).

For women I would usually avoid strapless tops, as I sometimes like to shoot in a tight frame, and we don’t want you to look naked!

    Portraits:
I love showing a bit of personality with clothing! It’s your session, think about which clothes reflect what you’d like to communicate, and what makes you feel good in your own skin.

  • For actors headshot I usually recommend wearing some basic make up, however I do not recommend going over the top with it.

If you are doing a portrait shoot or have a particular casting in mind, you are of course welcome to do whatever you want - it’s your session!

Sometimes what can be fun is to take a few photos with basic makeup and then glam up towards the end.

The most important thing will be your energy and we want that to shine through!

If you would like to arrive early and do your make up at my studio, please let me know in advance.

  • You are welcome to shave during the session - there are basic bathroom facilities (toilets with sinks) for you to use at the studios.

  • Besides from the most obvious (clothing etc), I like to suggest bringing some snacks, to avoid crashing - you know yourself best 😉 I may offer some tea and delightful instant coffee. If however, you happen to be a London coffee snob, you will find The Arts Café onsite with a lovely view of the Thames.

  • This might seem obvious, but I’ll say it anyway: get a good night’s sleep and show up rested.

    This is for two reasons:

Firstly, you LOOK so much better after a night of good sleep!

Secondly, although being photographed may seem passive, it requires a lot of focus and being switched on in order to get shots that are vibrant and feel alive.

Retouching removes blemishes and stray hairs, but it won’t give you energy behind the eyes. That part is 100% you.

  • Here’s the more serious part:

I keep the copyright to all images unless we’ve agreed something different beforehand. You can to use your photos for personal and professional promotion (that’s what they’re for!), but they can’t be resold or licensed on to others.

The studio

  • My studio is based at Thames-Side Studios in Woolwich, South East London.

It might seem like a bit of a trek from central London at first, but it’s much easier now thanks to the Elizabeth Line (good old Lizzie!) straight to Woolwich, followed by a quick 10-minute bus ride to the studio.

The full address is U5-120 Thames-Side Studios, Harrington Way, SE18 5NR

  • From central London:

By train / rail: Charlton (around a 15–20 minute walk from the station, or a short bus ride)

By tube: Elizabeth line to Woolwich (then around a 10-minute bus or short taxi ride) or Jubilee line to North Greenwich (then 15-20 minutes by bus).

Google Maps tends to be good to use.

  • There is free daytime parking on-site. The car park is large, and there always tends to be a few spots free.

  • There are toilets available at the studios.

Please bear in mind that unfortunately there are stairs in my studio, and therefore it is not wheelchair accessible.

If you have any special requirements, I’d be happy to accommodate where possible. Please let me know before you book.
